Explain what you do here at GDS.
I design electrical and light systems, coordinate with other engineers on various projects and perform analyses on different electrical systems.
Why do you enjoy working the engineering/design/construction field?
I enjoy working in this field because I am a part of the process from conception to project completion. I get to see my engineering work out in the field being operational.
What drew you to Gibbens Drake Scott, Inc.?
I really love the work environment, everyone is friendly and helpful. They make it easy to ask questions and learn on the job which I appreciate as a new graduate.
As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to go into computer hardware design. I loved computers and I wanted to build them.
What inspires you?
I am inspired by hard working professionals who are willing to teach as well as learn. I look up to those in the field with lots of experience who are kind enough to show me the ropes.
What accomplishment or award you are most proud of?
Graduating with my bachelors summa cum laude.
Tell us about your background and why you chose to work at GDS?
I was born and raised in Kansas City, MO. I got my associates at MCCKC and transferred over to UMKC to finish my bachelors. I had one prior internship before joining on with GDS as an intern in August 2021. I accepted a full-time position and started May of 2022.
Tell us about a special talent or a strength you have.
I am not artistic at all, does being really bad at something count as a talent? Because I am very bad singer.
What do you enjoy outside of work?
I love to read and play video games.
