  • Woodstock Memorial Hospital, Woodstock, Illinois
    Project consisted of a new 150,000 sq. ft. 66 bed acute hospital. The hospital includes the following departments; Full Service Kitchen to serve patients and employees, Pharmacy, Clinical Supplies, Administration, Medical Records, Laboratory, Radiology, Emergency Room, Outpatient Services, Surgery, ICU, Special Procedures and Physical Therapy. The design has provided for the expansion of the hospital to 250,000 sq. ft. The chillers designed into the project are two 350 ton gas fired absorption CFC free chillers. The surgery rooms are supplied with air that is filtered by 99.97% efficiency HEPA filters at 0.3 microns. All controls are Direct Digital Control and are tied into an energy management system. The electrical service is a 4000 amp service with a 750 kW emergency generator for all emergency power requirements. Design also provided for heliport and site parking lot lighting.

  • Shawnee Mission Medical Center, Merriam, Kansas
    Project consisted of a 31,000 sq. ft. 2 story addition for LDRP Services. The 1st Floor was shelled out for a future auditorium and classrooms. The 2nd Floor consisted of 18 rooms for LDRP Services along with a 23 bed Nursery and full nursing services. The addition is air conditioned by a variable air volume unit and Direct Digital Control System tied into the hospitals existing Energy Management System. The remodel portion of this project included 7,800 sq. ft. of the existing LDRP Suite. This included converting the existing Nursery to an 8 bed Level II ICU Nursery and a separate Well Baby Nursery. The Level II ICU Nursery had a custom built headwall system to house all patient monitoring, equipment power and medical gases. The remodeling also included remodel of the Doctor's Sleep Lounge to accommodate 6 doctors.

  • Harry Truman VA Hospital, Columbia, Missouri
    Project consisted of renovation of the existing Blood Bank and Pathology Lab area within the Pathology Department and relocation of an existing 150 sq. ft. Computer Room. The HVAC work for the Computer Room consisted of a new packaged air conditioning unit to be installed above the ceiling that was tied into the existing cooling tower supply and return lines for system economy. New grilles and diffusers and associated ductwork was added to adequately distribute the air throughout the space. HVAC work in the Pathology Department consisted of re-routing of existing ductwork to new grilles and diffusers to accommodate the revised layout. Existing thermostats were relocated and reconnected to existing hot water heat boxes for proper control. The existing sprinkler heads were relocated for proper fire protection coverage. Electrical work in the area consisted of new light fixtures with solid state electronic ballasts and T8 lamps for high efficiency. Light level in the area was increased to correct a condition of low ambient light. New outlets and plug strips were added at the various benches and circuited to existing normal and emergency panelboards to provide power to the various pieces of equipment. New phone and data cabling consisting of standard telephone wire for the phone outlets and Level 5 cabling for the data outlets was added and tied into existing equipment to maintain computerized data handling. A fiberoptic multiplexer was added in the Computer Room with new fiber cables and were routed to the existing main telephone equipment room for the location station to tie into the campus fiber distribution system.

  • Geary County Community Hospital, Junction City, Kansas
    Project consisted of a 12,000 sq. ft. addition to the hospital for a new emergency room and laboratory department. The project also consisted of 8590 sq. ft. of remodel to the Business/Accounting Department, Radiology and Outpatient Surgery and Recovery. Besides providing HVAC, plumbing and electrical design for the new and remodel areas, the design also included upgrades of the fire protection system, new double wall fuel oil storage tank, backflow prevention upgrade, new emergency generator, new emergency transfer switches, new electrical service and fire alarm system.
