Educational Facilities

  • Raytown Schools Technology Center, Raytown School District                Project included the addition of 43,000 SF of Industrial/VoTech areas, 33,000 SF of classrooms and office areas, a new 1,600 SF server room, and 39,500SF of renovation to existing VoTech spaces. Design included all HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection and technology design. New construction included Administration and Counciling space, Career Assessment Center, Child Development Center, Early Childhood Professional, Cosmetology, Electronics Technology, Automotive Technology, Welding/Metal Fabrication, Construction Trades, HVAC Technology, and a Conference/Training Center. Renovated areas included Advertising and Display Arts and Networking Lab. Lighting for a 310 car parking lot was included in the design. 

  • Broken Arrow Elementary School, Shawnee Mission School District
    Project consisted of 75,000 SF new one-story elementary school building with one classroom wing two-story. The HVAC system was water source heat pumps with cooling tower and electric boiler. An Energy Management System was included for the HVAC system. The fresh air units utilized electric duct heaters. Project was total electric. All rooms were lit to I.E.S. recommended lighting levels with energy efficient light fixtures. Public address, master clock, and fire alarm systems were included throughout the facility. Emergency lighting was included to illuminate the path of egress per Code. Provisions were made in all classrooms for the future installation and networking of computers throughout the facility. Provisions were also made in all classrooms for the future installation of cable TV system throughout the facility. This project is handicap accessible.

  • Belinder Elementary, Shawnee Mission School District
    Project included installation of a new HVAC system to the existing 45,000 square foot building and an 8,500 square foot gymnasium addition. The new HVAC system was designed to meet the new outside air requirements recommended by ASHRAE. Rooftop units were selected to meet this criteria. The electrical service was upgraded to meet new load requirements. A new lighting system was provided in the corridors; a new Fire Alarm System, Public Address System and CATV systems were provided throughout the facility. The project also included data cabling for the addition of approximately 175 computer drops and associated power outlets. The total cost of mechanical, electrical and plumbing work was approximately $850,000.

  • Kansas City, Missouri Public Schools, Miscellaneous Remodeling
    Project consisted of minor repair and remodel projects at six elementary schools. Work included replacement of classroom paging system, replacement of incandescent fixtures with fluorescent fixtures, replacement of incandescent fixtures in gymnasiums with high intensity discharge type fixtures, replacement of water fountains with electric drinking fountains, replacement of several panelboards and increased the size of one electric feeder to a distribution panel. In two schools, the lighting in the Computer Lab was changed to a more glare free type and A/C was added to the room. Total cost of mechanical, electrical and plumbing work in the six schools was approximately $355,000.
