Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Southwest Fisheries Science Center La Jolla, California
The GDS design team is
currently providing architectural and engineering services for a new $84 million, 124,000
SF facility. The new state-of-the art facility
will house both office and laboratory spaces as well as an 500,000 gallon acoustical tank
for its aquatic research. Joining GDS in this
project are Gould Evans Associates, HDR, TranSystems, and Architects | Delawie Wilkes
Rodriques Barker.
NOAA National Marine
Fisheries Service Laboratory Pascagoula, Mississippi
A new $21.5 million, 50,000 SF
facility will house office and laboratory space for the NMFS Southeast Fisheries Science
Center (SEFSC), NMFS National Seafood Inspection Laboratory (NSIL), and the NMFS Document
Approval and Security Section (DASS). Joining
Walton Construction in its design/build team is GDS, TranSystems, and HDR.
Todd Bolender Center for Dance and Creativity
Kansas City, Missouri
GDS
is joining the team of JE Dunn, US Engineering, Mark One Electric, BNIM, and MC Lioness
Realty Group for a design/build project with the Kansas City Ballet. The old power house at Union Station was built in
the early 1920s and will be converted into a dance studio for the Kansas City
Ballet. The 62,000 SF facility will be on the
historic register and will incorporate a 200 seat, 3,600 SF performance studio and six
1,350 SF studios. Dressing rooms and locker
rooms for the students and business offices will also be incorporated.
National Archives & Records
Administration Kansas City, Missouri
GDS
is providing the mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection design for the
National Archives and Record Administration at Union Stations Adams Express Building. The 38,000 SF space will
house archive documents and exhibit galleries for the US government. The MEP design will be based on strict standards
set by the government for lighting, humidity control, fire alarm, and fire suppression.
Quintiles Blood Lab Marietta, Georgia
Quintiles is relocating one of its
existing labs to a different location in Marietta, Georgia.
The blood lab will be housed in an existing facility to enable Quintiles to
have its offices, laboratory support and wet space, docks, warehouse, material handling,
and specimen management all at one site.
